College of Arts and Sciences honors 25 alumni at Hall of Fame Ceremony

Oklahoma State University’s College of Arts and Sciences honored 25 of its most successful alumni Sept. 27 during the 2019 CAS Distinguished Alumni & Hall of Fame Ceremony at the Wes Watkins Center for International Trade & Development. Ardoth Hassler and Dr. George Thompson were both inducted into the Hall of Fame, while Brent Butcher and Maddy Cunningham were named Rising Stars. There were also 21 Distinguished Alumni recipients.

OSU is hosting a Constitution Day program on Sept. 17, at 4 p.m. The event features former Oklahoma Senator and Representative Angela Monson; Dr. Patricia Loughlin, Professor and Director of Graduate Studies in the Department of History and Geography at the University of Central Oklahoma; and Dr. Jeanette Mendez, Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education and Professor of Political Science at OSU.

College of Education, Health and Aviation launches doctoral program in Belize

The Oklahoma State University College of Education, Health and Aviation launched a new doctoral program in Belize last month, with 20 Belizean students pursuing a Doctor of Education from OSU. The degree option, which focuses on language, literacy and culture, is designed to train those who currently work within the country’s education system to be experts in literacy education.

Two faculty appointed co-executive directors for national science and mathematics association
