Visiting Munich, Germany, in the fall means a trip to the world-famous Oktoberfest, the huge celebration where a nation comes together to share its love of beer. For Cindy Crenshaw-Martin, vacationing in Munich with friends in 1980, the fun she expected when she walked through the festival’s main entrance vaporized before it began. Instead, fire and carnage would mar the rest of her life.

The three Oklahoma State University business graduates include Linda Parrack Livingstone, president of Baylor University, the late Neal L. Patterson, co-founder of Cerner Corporation, and Bruce T. Benbrook, chairman and CEO of Stock Exchange Bank.

Sharda honored by global association as AIS Fellow

Oklahoma State University professor Dr. Ramesh Sharda was named a 2019 Fellow of the Association for Information Systems (AIS) at its International Conference in Information Systems in Munich, Germany, in December. He was one of only two Americans honored by the international organization representing information systems research, education and practice.

Student entrepreneurs continue winning ways

Oklahoma State University student entrepreneurs Rabecca Wiseman and Brooks Robison have been named semifinalists in the ASU Innovation Open 2020 business pitch competition, which offers $300,000 in prize money to collegiate business startups. Wiseman, a master’s student in civil engineering, and Brooks, an MBA student in the Spears School of Business, continue to win top-tier business plan competitions with their technology startup, Contraire.

Director named for the Center for Sales and Service Excellence

A new director has been named to head the Center for Sales and Service Excellence (CSSE) in the Spears School of Business at Oklahoma State University. Kim Booker brings more than 25 years of experience to the job leading the center, which provides a specialized program to students interested in sales and customer service careers while working closely with OSU faculty and industry partners as well as participating in sales competitions with other universities.
