Candidates for governor sending representatives to forum Oct. 29

The candidates for Oklahoma governor will be sending surrogates to answer questions in an open forum from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 29 on the North Porch of Oklahoma State University’s Student Union. Chad Phillips, MD, will be representing Republican Kevin Stitt. Earl Mitchell will represent Drew Edmondson, the Democrat.

149 become U.S. citizens in OSU’s first naturalization ceremony since 2005

Oklahoma State University’s Office of International Students and Scholars held a naturalization ceremony for 149 individuals who wanted to become United States citizens at 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 19, in the Student Union Theater. Two of those have ties to OSU: assistant professor Dr. Ashish Ranjan and alumnus Charles Thomas. Forty countries were represented at the ceremony.

Stillwater Strong memorial dedication to honor parade victims set for Oct. 26

On Oct. 24, 2015, four attendees at the OSU Sea of Orange parade were killed and 50 were injured when a vehicle drove into the crowd gathered along the route. In the aftermath, the Stillwater community and Oklahoma State University united to rebuild and restore in the wake of the tragedy. The mantra Stillwater Strong was born. To honor the four lives lost and the countless lives forever changed, the Stillwater Strong Memorial will be dedicated at 5 p.m., Friday, Oct. 26, at the corner of Hall of Fame and Hoke Street, one block west of Main Street.
