OSU Research wins Hall of Fame Competition

OSU's Imraan Faruque research recognized to keep beehive buzzing

The Office of Naval Research (ONR) recently recognized Imraan Faruque, assistant professor in mechanical and aerospace engineering and director of the autonomous physics laboratory at OSU, as one of 25 awardees of the 2019 Young Investigator Program (YIP). In addition to the recognition, the program also provides a grant up to $750k for up to three years to support a related research project.

New book brings Oklahoma’s historic cultural landscapes to light

Over the course of 25 years beginning in 1987, Dr. Charles L.W. Leider and a team of students studied, documented and drew original layouts of 18 cultural sites. The findings are published in Leider’s latest book, “Historic Cultural Landscapes of Oklahoma,” which comes out Jan. 14.

OSU-USRI performs first-of-its-kind BVLOS flights

Oklahoma State University - Unmanned Systems Research Institute (OSU-USRI) conducted its first Beyond Visual Line of Site (BVLOS) research test flights on Dec. 18. The team operated unmanned aircraft within the national airspace system (NAS) at distances beyond the visual site of the pilot at the controls.

OSU graduate student receives scholarship; attends food safety conference

An Oklahoma State University graduate student was recognized for her academic ability, leadership potential, and passion for the food industry and food safety auditing profession. Conner McDaniel, a food science graduate student, was selected as a recipient of a $3,000 scholarship grant from the Food Marketing Institute Foundation for the 2018-2019 academic year.
