Cattle industry losing billions to COVID-19, report finds

The U.S. cattle industry lost an estimated $13.6 billion by early April this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and more economic damages to agriculture are likely, according to a study commissioned by the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association released this week.

COVID-19 is wreaking havoc globally, in the U.S. and in the state of Oklahoma. Payne County alone has 14 confirmed cases already (updated March 31, 2020). Protective gears are urgently needed for those medical and police personnel who are on the frontline of fight against the coronavirus pandemic. On March 30, the Stillwater Chinese community, led by the OSU Chinese Faculty & Staff Association (CFSA) and the Stillwater Chinese Baptist Church (SCBC), donated 7,200 facemasks to Stillwater Medical Center and another 2,400 to the Stillwater Police Department.
