Stillwater Strong: CEAT drone technology aiding firefighters and first responders

On March 14, 2025, high winds, extremely dry conditions and a potent storm system converged to spark a wave of wildfires across Oklahoma, devastating communities and overwhelming first responders. The spring wildfires destroyed over 170,000 acres and leveled 539 homes and structures across the state. Stillwater was among the hardest hit areas. Ninety-eight homes were completely lost that day and 123 homes were impacted. Among those, 46 were Oklahoma State University employees and their families and five OSU retirees.

MAE research takes brain scan research to the next dimension

CEAT’s S2FAR Lab leads the way in next-generation flight research

At Oklahoma State University’s Tulsa campus, the Simulation to Flight Applied Research (S2FAR) Laboratory is reimagining the future of flight. Located in the Helmerich Research Center, the lab specializes in taking aerial vehicle concepts from simulation to flight, giving researchers and students the opportunity to rapidly design, build and test unmanned systems that push the boundaries of aerospace technology.

OSU and Texas A&M plan national research center to advance safe energy-related geologic storage

Oklahoma State University has joined forces with Texas A&M University to establish the National Science Foundation Industry-University Cooperative Research Center for Energy-Related Geologic Storage, a new national hub for research on subsurface storage of fluids used or produced for energy activities.  The center invites collaboration with industry partners to ensure research addresses real-world challenges and delivers practical solutions.

CEAT research lab awarded $70K in IBM Quantum credits to advance fluid dynamics research
