OSU goes Dancing on the Green

Choreographed by Emma Draves, the new director of dance at OSU, the concert features live music and dancing from a wide array of artists at OSU. Unlike typical performances, this is an outdoor festival presented around the OSU campus.

Music Education major Braeden Weyhrich named an Outstanding Senior

During her time as an undergraduate, Braeden Weyhrich of Boone, Iowa, capitalized on the myriad music-related opportunities OSU has to offer. The music education major and clarinetist was part of the Cowboy Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Concert Band, OSU Symphony Orchestra, Tau Beta Sigma sorority, Sigma Alpha Iota fraternity and the National Association for Music Education. She was also on the President’s Leadership Council her freshman year, earned her Honors College degree, and topped things off by being selected as a 2021 OSU Alumni Association Outstanding Senior.

Saving the world through art

Erin Owen from Nowata, Oklahoma, has a passion for showcasing environmental issues through her art. As a Fine Arts junior at OSU, she has gotten the chance to experiment with different mediums and learn how to use art to tell her own story of sustainability and environmental problems.

Ethics Bowl Team reaches quarterfinals in second appearance at nationals

Senior celebrates family’s history of Black women farmers through award-winning artwork

Studio Art senior Shyanne Dickey recently won OSU’s Division of Student Affairs Celebrating Black Lives Art Contest with her piece, “Reigning Black Women Farmers.” Dickey, who hails from Tucson, Arizona, ventured outside her normal medium of oil paints to create the digital print. The collage of edited photos depicts six generations of women from Dickey’s family who have worked farmland in rural west Kansas for more than 150 years.
