Veterans Day Celebration Scheduled for Nov. 10 on OSUIT Campus

On Friday, Nov. 10, the OSU Institute of Technology community will once again commemorate Veterans Day and honor the U.S. Armed Forces’ veterans and active military members with a parade through campus followed by a celebration and Air Force Commendation ceremony.

Grand Old Post Office Student Housing Grand Opening set for Nov. 28

The grand opening of the Grand Old Post Office Student Housing is set for Tuesday, Nov. 28. A private ribbon-cutting ceremony for invited guests is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. The building will officially open to the general public beginning at 11:30 a.m. and visitors are welcome to come and go for an exclusive preview of the building’s impressive features. Semi-guided tours will be offered throughout the day and evening; the last tour will be offered at 8:30 p.m.

Wolverine Project Bootstrap Sheds Light On The Skills Gap

Wolverine, the brand synonymous with work boots and clothing since 1883, is shedding light on the skills gap with its third year of Project Bootstrap. Project Bootstrap is Wolverine's way of saying thank you to the women and men who keep the country running through their expert skills and strong work ethic. This year, Wolverine is supporting the next generation of trade workers by donating 2,000 boots directly to students at trade schools across the country.

VisCom Team Takes Top Prize at 48 Hour Film Festival

This was the third year for the event, which challenges film making teams to write, shoot, edit and submit a four to six minute film in just 48 hours. The qualifying films were screened Saturday, Oct. 21, at the Orpheum Theatre in downtown Okmulgee.

Gulf States Toyota donates scholarship funds to OSUIT Toyota T-TEN program

Recently, Gulf States Toyota was joined by Oklahoma-based dealers Fowler Toyota and Jim Norton Toyota to fund two-year scholarships for Toyota T-TEN students at OSUIT. The first four recipients were announced last spring – Ronal Baez, Robert Gunn, Miguel Martinez and Joel Ramoz.

Culinary School Raising Funds for Pop-up Restaurant

The project, now posted on the OSU Foundation’s crowd-sourcing website PhilanthroPete, has the goal of raising $2,500 that students will use to transform the Tech Room in the Culinary building into a pop-up restaurant for one week in December.
